i have many questions re church rules why can't women cut their hair why do they HAVE to wear dresses long sleeves i would like answers isn't our innerman more important then our outerman thanks for information and bible verses related to these topics

In answer to the question; why women cannot cut their hair, can be traced back, not to the law of God, but to the law of man (or, “a man's covenant”. Cf. Gal. 3:15). In biblical times, there were many laws, especially in the Old Testament, of which we are no longer under, that is to say, “ye are not under the (“first covenant”) law, but under grace”, being “not without law to God, but under the law to Christ” (Rom. 6:14 & cf.; See 1 Cor. 9:21; Gal. 4:4, 5; 5:18), for “no man (or, “flesh”) is justified by the (“first covenant”) law in the sight of God” (Study Gal. 3:10-25). When the Bible speaks of the law, it is up to you to understand the difference, between the laws of God, and the laws of man. The apostle Paul wrote, saying, “Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified” (Cf. Gal. 2:16-21). In other words, we do not govern our lives by the laws of man, neither by the laws of the Old Testament.
“Paul” said, “Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him? But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering. But if any man seem to be contentious (Marked by an often perverse and wearisome tendency to quarrels and disputes), we have no such custom (A usage or practice that is common to many or to a particular place or class or is habitual with an individual), neither the churches of God” (1 Cor. 11:14-16). To understand this, is to understand, that under the law, there were many interpretations, to what is long, and what is short. The Bible does not answer this question, only that a woman’s long hair, was given to her for “a covering” (HEB.: a veil: A length of cloth worn by women from ancient times as a covering for the head and shoulders and often used also in eastern countries to conceal the face especially of a married woman), of which was nor required of “men”. “Paul” was in fact saying, that this decision was left to the individual, and should not be a “custom” in the “church”, if it is to cause perverse and wearisome tendency to quarrels and disputes. He was in fact saying, that the emphasis is not on how long the hair is, but what the hair was used for. How long you should actually have your hair, was not a “custom” of the “church” then, and should not be so today.
In answer to the question; why do they HAVE to wear dresses with long sleeves, is basically, the same answer as your first question . in other words, it simply has to do with the modesty of the woman of the "church" ("For after this manner in the old time the holy women also....adorned themselves"), for not only was their "hair" meant to cover their body, but their clothing was also meant to do the same (Study 1 Tim. 2:9-15; 1 Pet. 3:1-5). This to, was not a “custom” of the “church” then, and should not be so today, for it is not the "outward man", which will be "justified", but the "inward man" (Cf. 2 Cor. 4:16-18), that is, "the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price" (Cf. 1 Pet. 3:4). And yes, the innerman is more important then our outerman (See Matt. 23:25, 26; Lk. 11:39, 40).

Greetings! in the name of the one true God and Saviour Jesus Christ. Grace, mercy, and peace from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord.
As for your questions, which the person that posted above did not adequately answer. I by the grace of God will give you a scriptural answer that you may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

Brother! I pray that you get the understanding concerning the things of God that you may be found blameless, without spot and wrinkle in the day of the Lord Jesus. As to you first question, as to why women can not cut their hair is because God has laid down a divine directive that must be followed and obeyed or she will go straight to hell. Let me show you that, that you won't think that I am not making up anything.
I Corinthians chapter 11 verse 15:
"But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for covering."
So, because a woman's long hair being her glory then she is not to cut her hair otherwise she sin against the law of God. Also concerning a woman's hair being a covering, although that is the case a woman's head still needs to be covered out of respect for the man who is her head and for the angels in heaven that are looking for power to be on her head. Let me show you that! Follow in your bible.
I Corinthians chapter 11 verse 5:
"But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven."
Therefore, when a woman prays or prophesieth (which can be rendered a woman's worship unto God) with her head uncovered or bareheaded or nothing on head then she dishonours her head. Now let me show you who is the head of the woman that she is dishonouring with hear head uncovered.
I Corinthians chapter 11 verse 3:
"But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God."
Again! as I stated above the woman that worships God bareheaded dishonours the man (I speaking of man in general; not simply a woman who is married but man is the head of every woman on this planet) for it is equal to a woman having her head shaved according to verse 5 when she worships God bareheaded. So, brother if you have women in your church worshipping with no head covering then you are in a false church in fact the woman are rebellious, can not take reproof, are not submissive, and are not humble. For true holy women of God would have their head covered.
Your next question is concerning as to why the holy women of God must wear dresses. It is because they are under divine commandment from God that must be obeyed. Follow me in your bible.
Deuteronommy chapter 22 verse 5:
"The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the Lord thy God."
So, it is a sin for women to wear pants in fact if a woman wears pants then she is an abomination unto God and therefore is going to hell when God appears in the heavens. Again, it is a sin for women to wear pants.
And lastly, the scriptures adjure or command the woman to dress modest, conservative, and to not allow the nakedness of their body to be seen in public which is a sin unto God. Therefore, true holy women must not only be holy within but without also.
For when the heart gets right within then the outer man will fall into place and harmony with God's eternal word.
I pray that these answers from the scriptures are sufficient for you and I pray that God give you understanding in all things that you may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

I was raised apostolic and no longer am. However i am a Christian that now attends a Church of god . About the hair issue. Yes a womans hair is her glory but it wil not keep you from going to heaven if your hair is short. In Africa women have short hair so i guess they or anyone that doesnt have long hair will go to hell. What about the Cancer patients that have none or my former Apostolic Pastor whos wife started having thin hair and got it cut. Also I agree 100% that we are to dress modestly but where is God's word does it say that we as Women have to wear dresses and men wear pants? NOWHERE! Men and women wore Robes but they were a different design for the women and men. Pants like robes are made differently, the womens pants have bigger hips. Pants were not made in Jesus time and so we all should go back to robes. This religion reminds me of the scribes and Pharisee's. Holy on the outside but full of dead man bones on the inside!

I am a pastor of a Non-denominational church in Petal, Mississippi. I was raised in the United Pentecostal Church and preached in their churches for a number of years. Then I began to get a revelation of God's Grace and I began to see how we, in the UPC ranks, were trying to work our way to Heaven. It was as though we were saying "The Cross Wasn't Enough! Jesus, we appreciate what you did. We know you gave it your best shot, but it just wasn't enough to purchase our salvation, so we're going to make a list of rules and regulations, that we will change as needed for convenience sake and we will add these to what you did in order to be saved."
Today, I understand that we are saved by God's Grace, His unearned, unmerited favor upon us by our faith in the substitutionary death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ in our behalf. We are saved through the power of the Cross and nothing else. There is not one rule or regulation that will save you by keeping it. It will come through repentant faith in the work of the Cross of Christ and that alone. God will receive all the glory for man's salvation, not we ourselves. If you have to work for it, then you can take pride and glory for saving yourself, but that's not the way that it is.
Ephesians 2:8, "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the GIFT from God - NOT BY WORKS, so that no man can boast."
If you are saved, it will be by the Grace of God, through faith in the FINISHED WORK OF CHRIST AT THE CROSS and nothing else. You will not be able to boast in what you've done to save yourself.
And yes, I know that faith without works is dead, but it's the faith that produces the works. We don't work FOR salvation, but we work BECAUSE OF salvation. We don't work to EARN God's mercy, but BECAUSE OF His mercy. Thank God for His marvelous grace.
One last note... Concerning the scripture in Deuteronomy 22:5. I used to preach that doctrine. "Women don't wear pants, because of Deuteronomy 22:5!" Well, if you're going to make a doctrine out of 22:5, what about 22:6, 22:7, 22:8, 22:9 or 22:10 which states that you can't plow with a mule and an ox together. Why isn't that one preached? Or the next one, 22:11, "Thou Shalt Not Wear Clothes Of Wool and Linen Woven Together?" How can you build an entire doctrine off of one scripture that's been selected out of an entire book and neglect the rest of them? Because it's all about legalistic mind control and it's nothing less than modern day Phariseeism!
I'll end on that note, because I'm about to get fired up.
